While we are talking about the warranty plate, I note that the Trim Code is 795. I haven't been able to locate any reference to a "795" trim code although I do see 796. Both tags have the same information (795).

Any thoughts? Thank you.

Chad,
Thanks for all the effort. I already did the decode, but I am confused by the trim code 795. I did not see any decode for a trim code of 795...unless I did it wrong.

Well, only thing I have left ('sides goin to ford) is 1) "numbers dummy" here on FTE. Look em up on our member's list. He's a 40 yr ford prts man who has retired w/a buncha reference material, has found many of us obsolete prts tucked away around the country. May B able to help, 2) Kev Marti too?(repro official lookin VIN tags). 3) cb dot com - some on there have access to old bronk stuff inc the Stropp model broncos.

Thanks, yes I am very familiar with NumberDummy; I am a huge fan of his. I was just hoping not to have to bother him since he is so busy helping everybody out. But, guess I'll drop him a PM and see what he thinks. I suspect this may have just been a typing error by the guy making the plates.

I appreciate the help you provided.

1966/69 Bronco: The Warranty Plate is located on the left inner cowl panel.

This Warranty Plate has similar codes as 1964/66 F Series trucks, can be decoded CORRECTLY using the 1965/72 Ford Passenger Car Parts Catalog.

The problem I have with these so called decoders is...the peeps that made them up haven't an ounce of Ford parts experience, nor any parts catalogs.

This wild mule p!ss inre to DSO codes is just that...wild mule p!ss!

A two number DSO code does not reflect a Domestic Special Order, all it reflects is the District Sales Office that the original selling dealer ordered the vehicle from.

If the DSO code is 6 numbers, the last 4 reflect a Domestic Special Order.

Marti has nothing available for 1966 and older vehicles, just for 1967/79 vehicles. FoMoCo used the same Warranty Plate 1966/67.

U13FL734868

U13 = Roadster (Open Body), Canvas doors and roof were available. I know where there's an original complete NOS kit.

F = 170 1V I-6.

L = Michigan Truck Assembly Plant.

734868 = 1966, assembled August 1965 (all trucks, Bronco's and Econolines use the same serial number numerical sequences of assembly). So, 734867 might be a C Series Tilt Cab, Econoline or whatever.

795: 7 = Light Silver Mink Match Stick Vinyl & Light Silver Mink Crush Vinyl / 95 = Bronco Roadster (Body type code 95 was used for early 1966's, 96 was used for later 1966's).

1966 serial number range: 732,001 - 914,000. With a 734,868 serial number, this is prolly one of the first Bronco's assembled.

Old thread, I know. Hoping OP is still with us. If so, that mirror you have on the DS fender is gold. No one that I know of is reproducing these mirrors yet, and yours being OEM, most likely, means you could probably dump it on someone doing a roadster restoration.

Enjoy owning one of the first Broncos ever. I had a Sep '65 build roadster that I sold a little while back and miss to this day.

Yo, dude, 'S up!
I remember U from bout 10 yrs. ago on ECBR. Ben Franklin, McF, etc - I wuz fficeman 50.
Anyway, I saw the mirrors on the net for (an outrageous) $150 or sompin. (Yeah, gold). U can get one from the reg. vendors for around $20 (FCE880546). Yeah, a copy for the ones J**p had in '50s/60s. No, they're not concourse correct, but work, R durable, & same exact design (10 - 15 inch adj shaft, 5 inch mirror, ball swivel joint w/screw tensioner). Lemmie No...
