PCM fuse keeps blowing
#31
I think what fordpride is trying to say is this is the appropriate from for that information

The powerstroke wiring harnesses are very different from the gasses and most of problems will have different answers. In my opinion start a new thread with the problem you had and how you fixed it in that thread. At least them it is in the proper spot for people that could have the same trouble as you to find it

pcm issues
So now .. . where to check on similar issues -- PCM fuses blowing and truck stops for otherwise inexplicable reasons . . . short somewhere that blows the fuse. I am not a mechanic . . . but on diesels . .. I understand to check among first on the warmers (filter and/or fuel "bowl" warmers"). I understood that in some cases disconnect and that is source of the issue and/or of course do the repair.
But to get the fuse to not blow if on the road, disconnect . . . other suggestions were the O2 sensor . . .see if there is damage or melting on the line; other . . . check to see if other melted or abrasion wires on the body; other . . . the RFI . . . on mine on either side of the engine near the top (I had noticed that my radio had been giving a "pop" recently when I turned it on).
For me . . .really . . .the RFI . . capacitor . . .iike said . . . looks like a "condenser" and there is some discussion as to whether it is one or the other . . . or exclusively used in discussion exactly. . .not my issue . . .looks like a condenser from old time "points, plugs and condenser" when doing tune ups
Again . . .my post not trying to keep up with the most current news on "whatever". Mine intended to assist those who may have symptoms of issues similar to mine.
