I have noticed that in the past week that when I start my engine I can hear a ticking sound from what seems to be the top of the engine. It only lasts roughly 5 seconds when the engine is first fired up and then it quits. I mentioned it to a coworker, who also owns a pretty respected performance shop in Columbus, OH, and he said it sounded like one of my hydraulic lifters is a little slow to respond. He said that if the sound goes away shortly after starting the engine it should be fine, but if the sound ever continues that I should have it checked out.


With that said, it this sound advice or should I have it looked at? I'm currently past my warranty with 62,xxx miles on the truck.
