My F-150 always thinks the keys are in ignition

Well, the title says it all.

I guess not ALL of the time, but pretty often when I turn off my truck and remove the key from the ignition, I get the "key is in the ignition" chime, and I'm not allowed to lock my truck.

Anyone else experience this? I hope I'm not getting into an appointment with the locksmith.

Thanks-

PC

Go back a page or two and find KSCRUDE's post called, 'Annoying Bell'. In there is a link from Shorebird that showes how to remove the ignition switch and a photo of the contacts that cause the truck to think the key is still in there.
