1996 Ford F-150 wheel lock ignition cylinder nightmare
Hi there,
Just recently my ignition all of a sudden was free spinning. The wheel was locked at the time which thickens the pot. I know you need the key in the on position to successfully hit the pin and remove the cylinder. I can't even turn the key remotely and so I decided "dumbly" to punch the cylinder out regardless and it came but snapping the metal piece that turns the ignition from on to off. I'm not familiar with ignition problems and could really use the help. Thanks!

I'm not entirely sure what you're talking about but I believe this is what you need
There is a snap ring on top of a washer with a rectangular hole which is on top of the gear with a rectangular hole in it
I believe the anti theft thin point snapped on you it will be in that gear undo the snap ring pull it all out put it back in without the broken piece put the ignition back in and you're good
I believe that gear needs clocked a specific way so if it even has to come out remember how to put it back

Worked just like you said. For some reason I couldn't get the new cylinder to work with the old snap ring and when I took the snap ring off and installed the cylinder it worked like a charm. Is it horrible for the ignition if there is no snap ring??
