These 4 Ford Models Are The Best Buys In Their Segment

Several Ford models have long held a reputation for providing excellent value and returning solid value retention over time, qualities that partially stem from their top-selling status, as is the case with the F-Series lineup. In that sense, it isn't terribly surprising to learn that Ford enjoyed a solid performance in Kelley Blue Book's 2024 Best Buy awards as well, with four of its individual models walking away with segment wins this time around. Each year, KBB analyzes data to determine which new vehicles present the best value by taking a look at ownership costs, prices, and reviews, giving us a good idea of which models are likely to represent "best buys" in their respective segments.

Best Compact Truck: 2024 Ford Maverick

First up, we have the Ford Maverick, which took home top honors in the compact truck segment. "Ford didn't invent the compact pickup; they just reminded everyone how much Americans missed having the option," KBB wrote of its selection. "The 2024 Ford Maverick provides light-duty pickup goodness in an attractive package with multiple personalities. Its compact size easily slips into parking spaces often too small for a full-size truck, and its lower ride height means loading the bed doesn't require body-builder-size arms."

Best Full-Size SUV: 2024 Ford Expedition

Next up, we have the Ford Expedition, which was awarded top honors in the full-size SUV segment. "The 2024 Ford Expedition boasts refined driving manners, a comfortable ride, and impressive fuel economy (for its size) - things you would not expect from a full-size SUV," KBB said. "The Expedition can also tow up to 9,300 pounds, and seat up to eight people in its modern, cavernous interior."

Best Full-Size Truck: 2024 Ford F-150

Perhaps unsurprising to everyone, the ever-popular Ford F-150 walked away with a win in the full-size truck segment of the 2024 KBB Best Buy awards, too. "Ford loads up the 2024 Ford F-150 with technology while electrifying the lineup with a hybrid and fully electric model," KBB said. "Amid this transformation, Ford continues to exceed buyers' expectations. Whether it's a basic work truck, an opulent people mover, a capable off-roader, or something in between, Ford offers an F-150 to do the job. There is good reason Kelley Blue Book is naming the 2024 F-150 a Best Buy Award winner among full-size trucks for the 10th consecutive year: Year after year, it sets the bar for capability, fuel economy, and technology."

Best Electric Truck: 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning

Finally, we have the Ford F-150 Lightning, which was awarded "best electric truck" in the 2024 KBB Best Buy awards, too. "The electric pickup truck segment is still relatively new but growing yearly," KBB said of its selection. "The all-electric version of the perennially best-selling Ford F-Series is a great buy for its reasonable pricing, impressive range, and advanced tech features."
