Gorgeous 1961 Ford F-100 Restomod Packs Coyote Power
This 1961 Ford F-100 restomod has been updated in every possible way, including its Coyote powerplant.
Well Executed
These days, vintage Ford trucks from the 1960s and 1970s have exploded in popularity, both as a collectible in stock form and as the basis for some pretty amazing restomod builds. This 1961 Ford F-100 up for grabs at Vanguard Motors resides squarely in the latter category, but it's such a well-thought-out and incredibly executed build that it's worth a much closer look.
Flawless Exterior
Built by the folks at Rowes Rod & Customs in Ohio, this 1961 F-100 is truly the definition of a "no-expenses spared" sort of deal, starting on the outside with that ultra-smooth, ultra-straight bodywork and flawless Stealth Gray paint. There are plenty of notable elements present here, including a custom front grille, mini tubs, a leather-lined tailgate, and an aluminum bed.
Revamped Cabin
The same goes for the interior of this beautiful rig, which features a totally custom look thanks to power seats covered with black leather and red diamond stitching, complemented by a matching black shifter and a large array of modern amenities that make it just as comfy as a new truck to drive.
Just Like New
That list is quite comprehensive and includes a set of Dakota Digital gauges and a Dakota Digital climate control system, Vintage Air A/C, a Pioneer touchscreen, a Budnik Chicane steering wheel, front and rear cameras, power locks, a push button start, and keyless entry - just like a new F-Series pickup might have, all wrapped in a stylish vintage package.
Potent Powertrain
The same goes for the mechanicals of this beautiful F-100, consisting of the modern-day Ford 5.0-liter Coyote V8, which is equipped with an Edelbrock intake manifold and Holley EFI system. It sends power to the rear wheels via a Tremec six-speed manual transmission and a 9-inch Ford rear end with 3.50 gears.
Sturdy Base
Underneath, this vintage pickup has been fitted with an array of suspension upgrades such as a full Art Morrison chassis and a four-link setup with coilovers and Wildwood disc brakes at all four corners. The newly lowered hauler rolls on a set of Budnik Chicane wheels wrapped with 225/45/ZR19 Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires up front, along with 345/30/ZR19 Michelin Pilot Super Sports in the rear.
Big Money
The result is a truly amazing vintage pickup that drives like a brand-new one, which is a compelling combination, for certain. Of course, all of this goodness doesn't come at a reasonable price tag, however - in fact, this one is selling for a cool $249,900. A lot of coin for sure, but this is also a lot of truck, in all fairness.
