You certainly won't find many second gen Broncos nicer than this, but you'll have to dig deep if you want to bring it home.

Bodacious Bronco

Second gen Broncos, built only in 1978 and 1979, have exploded in popularity in recent years. To the point where, well, prices have gotten a little ridiculous in some instances. That's most certainly the case with this bodacious '79 Bronco that we spotted over at Vanguard Auto Sales. But we're more interested in how amazing this thing looks than what sort of price tag it's wearing.

Quality Job

According to the seller (and our naked eye), the Bronco has undergone an extensive restoration. The two-tone red and white paint looks pretty flawless, and the body and trim have thankfully been left alone. Thus, aside from the lift and rolling stock, this Bronco looks essentially stock on the outside, just the way we like 'em.

Clean Enough to Eat

The true test of any vehicle is what it looks like underneath. And this Bronco is essentially perfect there as well. The listing doesn't note what sort of aftermarket goodies this Bronco packs down here, but it does sport the legendary combo of a Ford 9-inch rear end and Dana 44 front diff. Not that this one's been driven off-road or even in the rain since its restoration was completed, from the looks of things.

More of the Same

Peek inside, and you'll just find more of the same. The red and white interior is simply flawless, again retaining most of its original parts. Save for a modern Bluetooth stereo with Kicker speakers, that is. There's also a Vintage Air setup present for those warm summer days, while power steering and power disc front brakes make cruising that much more comfortable.

Sensing a Theme

The wheel design is always subjective, but you'll be hard-pressed to find anyone that hates on these old school white wheels that's now wrapped in beefy 35" tires. It's a classic, timeless look for a classic, timeless off-road utility. And like the rest of the Bronco, they just fit the theme of this build perfectly.

Mild but Sanitary

At this point, you'd expect to find a perfectly sanitary engine bay, and you'd be right. Under the hood lies a 351 that's been highly detailed and fitted with a modern Holley Sniper Electronic Fuel Injection setup. The mild build breathes through headers and dual exhaust, and shifts are handled for you by a C6 automatic transmission.

Sticker Shock

Overall, it's pretty much impossible to find any faults with this near-perfect Bronco. Well, except for the almost $68k price tag, that is. But in this era of Bronco fever, that exorbitant asking price doesn't really shock us anymore.
