Unlikely Combination

The Ford Maverick Tremor was introduced just a few weeks ago as a more capable, off-road-focused version of the popular compact pickup. However, rumors of a street truck variant of the Maverick have swirled for some time now, and YouTuber The Sketch Monkey recently decided to see what such a machine might look like with Tremor styling cues. Turns out, that combination works pretty darn well.

Coming Back?

Street/sport trucks have largely fallen out of favor since their glory days, when models like the F-150 SVT Lightning roamed the streets and the drag strips. In fact, Ford hasn't made a true sport truck since the F-150 Tremor (not the new, off-road version), which only lasted one model year.

Teasing the Future

Regardless, many have pined for the return of the old-fashioned sport truck, and Ford has alluded to the fact that it may one day build a sportier version of the Maverick, perhaps even an ST model. For now, however, the Tremor is the very first variant to be added to the compact pickup's lineup.

Simple Transformation

In this case, since the Tremor is already a pretty handsome machine with unique accents, The Sketch Monkey didn't need to do much to transform it into a low-slung street machine. The process starts by lowering the pickup, of course, and fitting it with a larger set of wheels and sticker tires.

Low, But Not Slow

A set of red brake calipers has pretty much always been a hallmark of performance, and they look right at home here as well. A few additional tweaks, such as a revised front end, only further enhance the truck's sporty looks.

Interesting Choice

One of the more interesting features present in this sketch, however, is the pickup's front bumper, which was swapped out with one from a Mustang Mach 1. However, it looks right at home, as do the new side mirrors, which is quite interesting.

Satisfying Project

We're certainly digging the way this street-focused Tremor turned out, and we imagine that a lot of folks will feel the same way. After all, quite a few of us are still patiently awaiting the return of the sport truck, even if that may never actually happen.
