Mid-Cycle Refresh

Following its debut for the 2022 model year, the Ford Maverick was an instant hit, and is still proving difficult to find on dealer lots, thanks to its combination of a low price tag and high efficiency. Regardless, the 2025 Ford Maverick ushers in the compact pickup's very first refresh, which adds a few very notable updates to the popular model.

Trim Levels

In terms of trim levels, not a whole lot has changed for the 2025 Maverick, but there is one item to note - the Tremor has now become its own trim, based on the Lariat, replacing the Tremor Off-Road Package that was previously available on the XLT and Lariat trims. This means that 2025 Ford Maverick shoppers can choose from the XL, XLT, Lariat, and Tremor for the new model year.

Lobo

Ford has also added the Maverick Lobo to the lineup, a sporty model with a lowered suspension, unique bodywork, the Edge ST's seven-speed automatic transmission, and even torque vectoring. The Lobo does utilize the same 2.0-liter EcoBoost I-4 as the regular Maverick, however, and doesn't get any additional power.

Exterior Styling

In terms of exterior styling, the front fascia on the 2025 Ford Maverick has received a pretty substantial overhaul. Along with new headlights, the bumper has been redesigned, along with the grille. Each trim also gets its own unique front-end styling that varies slightly to help differentiate them, to boot.

Powertrains

Powertrains for the 2025 Ford Maverick remain the same - buyers can choose from the 2.5-liter Hybrid system - which is once again the standard powertrain - or the turbocharged 2.0-liter EcoBoost I-4. The latter model has lost 12 horsepower compared to the outgoing 2024 Maverick, however, due to the addition of a gasoline particulate filter.

Tech Features

In terms of tech, the 2025 Ford Maverick has gained a standard digital instrument cluster, as well as a standard 13.2-inch infotainment screen inside the cabin, which runs SYNC 4 and offers up wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

Pricing

Of course, all of these new standard features also mean that the 2025 Maverick is more expensive than the outgoing model as well. Base XL models with either powertrain now cost $26,295 (minus $1,595 for destination charges), compared to the 2024 model at $23,920, in fact - quite a jump from the 2022 Maverick, which famously started out at just $19,995 when it debuted.
