Hey guys, Can you verify this carb for me. I have two AI bots telling me different things.
They can be so confidently wrong.
It stumbles for a second when I start from a stop. Any suggestions to fix?
There is a web site if you google 1956 FORD Thunderbird carburetor. The 312 came out in 57 and used a 4150 style Holley carburetor. If your engine is originality should be a 292.

That could be. I thought my vin lookup said 312, but you could be right. I will need to double check.
Now wait a minute, Joe! Did you buy an old T-bird? How did I miss that? If it's yours and not a friends, we need pictures. Even if it is not yours we need pictures!

lol yep. Bought it last week it’s a 56. I have wanted one of about 30 years. Of course a truck was first priority.
i need to name her and figure out vanity plates. Any suggestions?
agree on holley 'teapot' but i have no working knowledge of them... Know for sure not a standard ( common) holley.
fellow near me has a 56 long roof with a fenton 2x4 intake and uses teapots, runs dang good...
Well I did just by it a week ago today. It is an automatic. Gwen does like riding in it. Not sure if she will drive it. I don't know if her feet will reach the pedals.
It would have been nice to have a soft top as well, but it will just take more trip planning.
I was driving it home, about 20 miles, and on a gradual uphill I tested it a little and got up to 83 going uphill. That was enough for the moment. The speedometer is off. I need to see how much it is off. It doesn't look like a rear end change type of off (I have the math for that on my truck)
I need to look into a Thunderbird forum, but I'm afraid they might be a little too uppity for me. I figure you all know far more about what I need help on than anyone on another forum.
I don't plan on upgrades or anything special. I just want to keep it running and stopping well.
