Electrical guru people! Making a pdb
my list of crap going to positive battery currently…
-starter relay wire (4ga)
-alternator wire (4ga)
-power wire for sound system (4ga)
-power wire for electric fan relays (8ga)
-power wire for msd box capacitor (12ga I think)
Battery ground side…
-The factory ground to frame/block (4ga)
-ground to back of alternator (4ga)
-ground for msd capacitor (12ga
-factory ground for ecm (one that goes to core support (12ga)
It’s an ugly hot mess! I’m looking at ANL style fuse links on the blocks. Most likely 0 gauge input from battery terminals.
Anyone have any other ideas, I’m all ears unless it’s “put it back to factory”. Pics of setups would be nice!
I wouldn't
The alternator needs a unobstructed path to the battery
Not to say that your junction block will be an obstruction
The solenoid terminals act as a buss bar
That said, go ahead and clean it up
I need to do the same with my 69 Boss 302
I always thought I would be running more accessories and installed some wiring off a 76 Lincoln starter solenoid with feeds for things I am NOT using
@manicmechanic007 the hot mess finally got fixed today! Battery wanted to start crapping out so it was time to pull the trigger. Battery tray was nasty so that got pulled, sanded and two coats of rubberized undercoating. Hopefully that will help it last longer.
those nice, thin, new clamping- style coated steel connectors.
2 winters ago, they left me stranded when the positive corroded all the way through.
Never again. Now I just use junkyard cables with the thick, positive style lugs.

sorry, no hot mess pic as I really just wanted to go home...
