Big three upgrade question

I have a 01 Ford Excursion 7.3. Im trying to do the big 3 upgrade. I got a 1/0 wire from the alternator fused to the positive side of the driver's side battery terminal. Have got a 1/0 wire from alt mount casing to the engine block where the driver side battery ground goes to. Where does the third wire go? Is it engine block to body or frame? . If so where is that ground located? Thanks

What color is that other wire? Usually there is a 3rd wire that is the feedback or sense wire for the internal regulator. It's put where you want the alternator regulator to monitor the voltage which then tells the alternator how much to output.

Its 1/0 gray wire. The kit I bought had 2 4ft gray wires and 1 6 foot blue wire. The blue wire is for the charge wire from the alt to bat. And the 2 gray wires are to upgrade the grounds. One from alt casing to block and from negetive post to block. I upgraded my battery cables from 1/0 from battery to battery to 2/0 and to starter 3/0 a couple of years ago. Basically the kit makes the current flow better. Now reading what I typed seems like I just have a left over cable. Could i use it to ground the block that the neg battery cable goes to then run it to the frame? I hope that makes a little more sense.

I don't know what "kit" you have. I was hoping you got the alternator from the junkyard and it had a factory wire on it. What year alternator do you have? Or do you have a aftermarket "one wire" alternator?

Its a factory one wire. 2001 7.3 stock The alternator is fine. The kit is a upgrade of power and ground wires. Its recommended to do when putting a power hungry audio system In or alot of accesories. Also when wanting to add a high alternator.

The factory never made a one wire alternator that I know of. Not sure where the extra wire goes.

Why doesn't anyone include instructions with the stuff they sell anymore?
