Injector Cleaners?
Yes or No?

I wonder, I've never used them as I buy BP gas pretty much exclusively, but I have a car that I'm trying to cure of symptoms related to P1132 and have replaced the throttle sensor MAF and Ox sensers and the rough running, hesitation, stumbling at idle and P1132 codes remain intermittent, so now trying Chevron Concentrated additive ..... and next if need be, I'll try removal and cleaning injectors ...
... but I have a '07 FX4 @ under 90K miles as well as other late model injected Fords and I see that many use cleaners in the fuel at oil changes, etc. as preventative tactics.
Anyone here use them regularly or have a favorite?
05-24-2026 PM update. .... Well, we took the Thunderbird out this afternoon, to expose the injectors to the dosed fuel. Rough idle, stumble some too for first maybe 5 or 7 miles .... then it started running a little smoother. I was driving some back roads to shake-up the tank that was near full with the Chevron cleaner in it, hoping to stir it. I had dumped two 12 oz bottles Chevron I found on a shelf last night into the just filled tank of gas. Well .... by time I had driven 20 miles, it was running pretty smooth, and so we kept going, likely near 100 miles or so total. It never stumbled, missed, or did anything but run buttery smooth the rest of the way.
In my trunk box of the T-bird is the throttle sensor, MAF sensor, and the two Ox sensors I had replaced over the last year, guess they all were still good.
In prior searches, dirty injectors didn't pop up as causes for P1132 but add that word "intermittent" and there it was.
Yeah, I'm calling it "fixed".Last edited by tbear853; Yesterday at 04:23 PM.
