Purchased a 18 f250 white gold metallic. Had a ranch handle bumper that I’m trading for a stock chrome. Plus some cash to do the core support/ headlights/grill swap to a 2020 but keeping a 18 bumper.
couple questions
- looking at a few post and hear mixed things on 18 bumper with 20 grill/ headlights. Might need to trim, or might be a gap? Any have pics with this setup?
- can I put some 2020 oe leds fogs in my 18 bumper? Understand wiring might need some resistors or something, but will they physically fit.
-Staying with halogen headlights and thinking of some cheaper clear headlights. Open them up and paint match. Also want to paint match the plastics on the bumper, and fender emblems. Anyone have experience ordering some spray can paint match and 2k clear? Know it’s a more unique color so wondering if it’s worth taking to a shop or can will get it close enough.
This truck has some chips, marks, few scratches. Don’t need things perfect and not trying to spend a ton. Just want a clean look that’s not 100% stock
currently
Roughly what I’m thinking using AI. Still deciding on platinum vs limited grill. Understand it’s not for everyone.

For paint and a 100% match, I use automotivetouchup.com. Bought a pristine 2001 Ranger 2 years ago and their brush on touch up paint was an exact match. My son has an 05 F250 and paint matched a lot with their spray cans and all was a perfect match. I cant help with the bumper fitment, sorry.
Seems like everyone wants to go back to the 2017-2019 tough truck look. You know, the last super duty that actually looked intimidating in someone's rear view mirror...Everything since is equivalent to what porsche did to the Cayenne after 2007 model year. Anything after 2019 has the soccer dad look IMHO. I get if you want/need a new truck but can't imagine anyone wanting to go from a 2017-2019 front end to a newer one on purpose.

Referencing Porsche as a relatable analogy. Posting no useful info, and so highly opinionated had to check out this profile 😂😂 You keep posting on vinyl wrapping mudflaps. I’ll keep building my soccer dad truck big dog. IMHO Pretty sure I understand why you can’t image someone not needing this intimating tough truck look your rocking. Good news is that mudflap modification won't void any warranty the next time you go cry to the dealership

WTH are you talking about vinyl wrapping mudflaps, who cares about a post 7 years ago. My truck is highly modified with a Carli Pathfinder level lift, 35" Wild Peaks and some badass Method rims. You are trying to make people believe you have a newer truck. Maybe you should have just, well, bought a newer truck.

You and your truck are so bad *** bro! All the awesome things you’ve done! Going to make people believe all kinds of things about you! Thanks for the help. I’ll just go buy a newer truck.
Appreciate the recommendation Summers22
paint will be here tomorrow! Doing front, back, fender emblems, and the plastic around the tailgate handle. Want it to just look like it should’ve been factory. Have a problem with normally going overboard on things. So hopefully stopping the paint match there. I attempted to use AI to render up some different grills. Color is off and kept switching back to 2020 fogs. Going to stay with my 18 fogs I think.

I know of at least one guy; my buddy had a '19 Platinum and he wishes he had my headlights & grill, and I'm sure he's not alone! Just because it's not your cup o' tea, doesn't mean that's the general consensus!!
Don't sweat it OP, it's yours and you're the only one that needs to love it, so go for it.
As far as the bumpers, they look very similar, so probably a non-issue, but the '20 fogs don't look like they work out of the box, but maybe with a little massaging(?).
Still have to paint the center bumper plastics, and the Tremor lower valences. Thinking gloss black for those.
Realizing the look isn’t for everyone, but happy with it. Pretty easy swap too. Going to pull the wiper cowl, and window trim to do gloss black too.
