Engine coolant temp when towing, max ??
Few days ago I towed my 12k trailer westbound from Hoover Dam up the hill to Vegas. Going up that hill, at 68mph I noticed the temp went up to 236degF (via Forscan I see temp values, not just the dial). I have never seen it that high and wonder at what temp might you choose to back off a bit. I did and it quickly went back to low 200 ish degF but I slowed to low 60's mph. Not many truckers passed me, but a zillion cars flew by like I was in reverse.
2019 F350 SRW 6.7L short bed. My last cat scale put truck (with trailer attached) at 12300lbs and 5th wheel trailer was 12k lbs. Yes I am aware my truck is over GVWR and looking at 450 as a result. Its time for an upgrade anyway.

Nothing wrong and you don’t need a f450. That is f250 territory. On my 2018 oil would always get up to 245 degrees, coolant would get up to 240 degrees, the cooling fan comes on at those temps and I can watch the temps drop over 10 degrees in seconds.
That 2018 model has towed 15k all across AZ, Utah, New Mexico, Texas, and mtns of NC.
You just don’t understand your truck. Keep pushing it. As long as trans doesn’t go over 260 your good, 250 it’s in upper yellow. Keep oil under 260, but it will go into limp mode before it blows up, to keep everything protected.
the newer 2020 trucks run cooler then the 11-19

Pretty sure the new F350’s are 12400 GVWR. My 2023 F250 7.3 Lariat Ultimate has a payload a bit under 3300lbs. My 2021 F350 6.7 Lariat Ultimate also had a payload of 3300lbs.
