87 F150 4.9 No injector pulse, No fuel pump power

I have an engine I pulled from an 87 Ford F150 (harness and all) that I put in a 73 F350. I got it in the truck but have no injector pulse, and the fuel pumps aren't kicking on. Fuel pumps work if hotwired, and engine runs if injectors are manually pulsed. The 87 is a dual tank model with three pumps but I'm only using the side tank and frame pump. I did go through the harness and eliminated what I assumed was unnecessary wiring (mainly interior) but I don't know if there may have been something that would have this effect. All grounds that I can find have been tested and come back grounded. I tried checking my dad's 90 F150 but his harness has different connections. I'm unsure what to check next and would appreciate any advice or things to check.

Do you have these two wires coming out of the harness near the upper passenger's side corner of the radiator?
They're power grounds for the EEC. They need to be connected to the battery negative terminal.
The wire colors are black with a light green stripe.

Posts #6 and #7 at this thread should be similar to your harness. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...ispreloading=1

I don't believe I have that because when I cleaned up the harness I don't remember any of the headlight section being connected to the computer section. The interior portion was mostly eliminated just power in, and key and power out.

Pins 40 and 60 at the computer need to be connected to ground. On '87 through '89's, the two wires to the battery negative terminal were how that was accomplished.

What steering column are you using? The ignition switch on an '87 has multiple circuits that need to be properly switched.
That switch is mounted to the top of the column and actuated by a linkage rod, that connects to the key cylinder.

Using the original ignition switch from the 73 they both have the same connections and I wired them the same

I'll have to double check thursday and see if those were both grounded

Have you tried checking for codes? That will tell you if the computer is powering up and can communicate through the diagnostic test port.

I don’t know what you unnecessary wiring you eliminated for the interior because the engine harness does not have anything to do with the interior other than the wires from the engine sending units to the instrument cluster.

I have not tried testing codes yet, truth be told I hadn't thought about it.

I don't have a standard instrument cluster to attach to so nothing interior wise would have an effect, correct?

What I was saying is that the chassis harness is separate from the engine harness.

So my issue has to be somewhere in what remains of the engine harness or the computer. I appreciate that, it narrows down what I have to sort through.

This may be my issue, I went and got the harness today and don't remember having the connector those go to connected to anything. I won't know for certain for a couple weeks when it all goes back together. Is there a reliable diagram for the computer?
