Dam,my turn for E4OD trouble

Driving today, trans started slipping at 50k, [ 30 mph ] , then had a few hard shifts up and down from a stop. I'm going to limp it to a friends shop tomorrow and do some tests. I have a spare trans if needed but hoping it is just an electrical thing.

How about letting us know what truck you have it in? What year?

1994 F150 short box. 4.9L. No OD light, check engine light and flashing seat belt light have been on for years. Check engine code is always for 02 sensor. I have replaced them, light stays on. I drove it to the trans shop without issue. They will go through it, and swap out the fluid while it's there. Reading E40D posts here over the years has me convinced it will be something electrical. Thank for the replies.

5400 ? I assume that is U.S. money ? I have spare rebuilt trans already in my garage I bought last year, they quoted me a grand to re and re if it comes to that. I am banking on the issue being an electrical connection due to how sporadic it has been. The guy looking at it has a OBS F150 himself so will know exactly what to look for. Several guys on the Canadian OBS club up here recommended him, and luckily, he is only 8 miles from me. I drove the truck out to his shop Friday without any slipping or a hard shift.

Ok, I will ask What is 're and re'?

If it has anything about rebuilding, you can't rebuild it for $1000. You could replace a bunch of parts, but that is not a rebuild in my book.

re and re is R&R, or remove and replace. Take the old trans out and install the new trans.

I've been in the business for well over 40 years and I know in my area, 're and re' term is not used.

We use, R&R, R&I, D&A, P&A, and PNIS. but no 're and re'.
