Injectors choices

So Eventually, it’s going to be a bit, I’m going to do efuel and a set of injectors in my truck. I’m just curious what is the best injectors for daily driving and some towing? nothing extreme just 15 bales of hay and some cows here and there. I’m not a guy who likes to roll coal at all I want my truck to run as clean as possible, but a little more power would be nice. I’m new to the diesel world (this is my first diesel truck, had it a little over a year) and I understand that to runs stage ones or anything other than stock you have to be tuned, but like I said I don’t want it to smoke. I’m fine with stock injectors if that’s what need be but I still want to do a efuel system. Just looking for your guys input.

You can do stage 1's with custom tunes and she will wake up pretty good, the smoke will be determined how well the guy's tunning is.

Do a 6637 intake, 3” down pipe, 4” exhaust, gauges(egt, boost and trans temp if auto) and good tuning to start with. That will give you a extra 40-50hp depending on condition of your injectors. Then if you feel you want/need more then get stageI’s

I have everything you’ve got mentioned there expected for the intake and that’s on the way. It’s a manual so I have an HPOP gauge instead of a trans temp. It’s currently in the paint booth. It’s currently at 310k but has been very very well maintained and I know how these engines are when they been taken care of. If I decided to do the stage ones and efuel, who would you guys recommend for the tuning for no smoke? And even if I did efuel and stock injectors (I know it’s not going to have a massive amount of power with stocks) what tunes and tuner would you recommend?

Unfortunately stageI’s and stock turbo will smoke regardless, how bad depends on the tuner and your right foot.

My advice on a tuner is call and talk to every tuner you can find and go with the one you feel will work the best for you.

Would efuel, stock injectors and a tuner of some sort with a daily and a tow tune being decent?

If you have a chip now with the mods I posted above then you are at the limit of the power you will get without upgrading injector. E-fuel isn’t going to give you more power. It will give you a smoother idle and be a little more responsive.

I will jump in here and just add that when I was on stock stixs and did efuel,t500,tunes,exh, intake, bill built bellowed up pipes, deleted ebpv i had a few observations.
1) stock fuel system would drop pressure on a hard pull.my in cab gauge would drop from 75 at idle to 35 on a hard pull and that's only as far as I let it. I never let it find it's low point. After efuel I noticed 4-5psi increased boost.(slight haze on hard accel)
2) when I did the t500 I saw yet another jump in boost of 4-5psi. Was my pump work and just a new pump was the fix? I don't know because I at that time had no way of monitoring.(clean burn after and 4-5psi increase)

With all above mods and an extremely outdated single hypertech 50hp tune my exhaust burned absolutely kleen. Even at night with my buddy following he saw nothing. That combo made 29-30psi with stock turbo and injectors. It dynoed at 200hp and 356lb/ft. I should have simply stopped there. The truck pulled well and got reasonable fuel economy.
All I'm saying is if it were me I would get the most of what you have with well thought out mods and a good foundation. If after that you want more then you are already reasonably ready for it.

I'll be the second to say that with the supporting mods and stock injectors, I couldn't believe how well my truck ran on stock injectors. Not as good as it runs on stage 1's but I think I could have been happy with it on stock sticks with good, tunes from a reputable tuner. I had some canned tunes on a TS 6 position chip and the difference from those to tunes written by a tuner - for my truck- was impressive. I also saw 25+ PSI boost through the stock blower with stock sticks, I never would have expected it would run that well with the little 90cc injectors, but I was impressed.
