The other day It was rather warm out so i attempted to use the AC and it only blows HOT air. If i turn the AC off even when its fairly cool outside and the dial moved to the Vent setting its still very hot.I have no way to control the heat coming out of the vents which is very uncomfortable. Is the blend door not opening to allow cool air in?
Year? Electronic controls or mechanical?
If the blend door actuator is suspect, it's accessed by lowering the glovebox. It's on top with a plug and couple of screws.
sorry about that, truck is a 2007 XLT, has mechanical controls.. I saw on another post about someone messing with their head light control **** repeatedly to get the heater controls to function. I tried this and was able to get the AC to work again, this was short lived though and the ac stopped working and my center temp control **** even when set to cold blew hot air even when traveling down the road. I will look at your diagram and check out the blend door as potential suspect.
would this grey vac line be under the dash or out in the engine bay?
Engine bay. For some reason I can’t post pics, but if you google “ford 6.0 heater valve” the first pic shows the hose connected to the valve above the coolant line. If that hose is unplugged then the valve defaults to fully open allowing full hot coolant flow to heater core.
The grey line in the bay operates the valve that limits the coolant flow. Older trucks and some regular cabs did NOT even come with the valve.
If that line was off it is not enough to cause the amount of heat you're saying is coming out instead of A/C.
But so you know, heres a pic of the valve and grey vacuum line. The valve will suck in when the control is on the max AC setting.
