The whistle comes from the turbo, not the exhaust. Search for a turbo with a 10 fin exducer on the exhaust side like the 03 turbo came with.

I went from stock to the 4" MBRP straight pipe. No muffler, no cat. HUGE difference I love the turbo whistle and it turns heads. As a plus, I picked up 3 MPG

 

03 turbo, because...well it's an 03, and straight pipe with no cat.

Sounds like a Cessna Citation about ready to lift off. You can also get just the back half of the 10 blade turbine from Charlie at KC Turbos.

When I first got my truck it whistled allot 4" magna flow no cat

This truck really whistled more then most 6.0 that I've came across I've only heard one other 6.0 whistle like it in the 13 years I've had it

I put an egr delete on it and lost half the whistle must of changed flow to much it sounds like an average 6.0 whistle now

For that premium whistle you need an 03 turbo and 03 egr cooler functioning with 4" exhaust no cat and magna flow performance muffler this setup produced by far the best whistle

Like the guys say You can switch to an 03 turbo and gain a mediocre whistle

 

i have a powermax turbo with 4" MBRP straight pipe with no cat. it screams outside the truck but is tame in the cab. Sounds mean. Ive been happy with it.
