DEF Code P20BA

FYI, there is a brand spankin new recall on the DEF system. I had my truck in the shop for the code P20BA. I paid for repairs. The next day my dealer called me to tell me there is a new recall out on this. She said we likely won't see any details from Ford before June...so if you get the P20BA code...DO NOT PAY FOR REPAIRS! Have your dealer check for the recall!

I'm getting back $677.90, plus tax.

What exactly did your dealer replace that added up to $677.90? Did they specifically say recall is it just a TSB?

She specifically used the term recall. Said we would probably see details from Ford starting around June.

Humm - for those of us that have had their DEF system replaced already, wondering if we got the "new stuff". Hopefully there are date details in the TSB.

So my '14 Lariat 6.7 just had its first issue The P20B reductant code. The check engine light was illuminated. Don't think my 14 is covered under the extended.

I cleared the code using FORscan. If it's not covered under the extended warranty the stealership certainly won't be putting their hands on it I'll fix it myself.

If you have a smartphone, download the app FordPass. Create account and enter your VIN. It will tell you if you are covered or not under this FSA. If yo udo not ahve a smartphone, create an account on the Ford Owner website. It will tell you if you are covered or not.

Thanks, yeah I'm on the Ford Owners website and have the FordPass app and neither list a recall or tsb on the reductant heater. I have a bulletin for Sync, the crank case separator and the exhaust temp sensor. But like I said in my other post the dealer where I bought it from said they'll cover it for me.

Folks,
Yea it cost me $1000+ to have the reductant heater replaced last fall on this use truck 2015 F250 with 100K miles, out of warranty. Extended warranty did not cover either, this is a wear par they saidt! I was not happy but maybe I didnt stand on one foot and hold my mouth just right with all the rules regarding diesel operations. Maybe I filled DEF too full, maybe it froze? Maybe I let the fuel get to low??? Still learning and paying!
Would be nice if the recall was retroactive and I got some money back. No not my luck it seams.
Regards,
Chris

Not sure what happened I thought I posted this in the other related thread. Sorry

Effies, did you contact Ford Customer Service and ask them if they would cover it even if pass the 100k mark. I thought there was a provision that covered trucks for a short period of time after this FSA was released.

FYI This part failed on our previous 2012 F350, less than $200 and a few hours to repair. Not bad at all to do.
