M5OD Owners- How Stiff is Your Clutch Pedal?

My 1995 F150 has the M5OD 5 speed in it and the clutch is very light. It seems to be working okay, just the pedal is not heavy at all. It's not bad, but I'd prefer it be a little bit heavier so you can feel the engagement point a little easier. Most trucks I've driven that were stick shifts you practically need to be a body builder to operate the clutch smoothly. Im wondering if this just my truck or if anyone else truck is like this. The clutch itself has about 30 or 40,000 miles on it IIRC.

Mine is fairly light. Doesn't take much effort at all to push it. As a matter of fact, after I drive my M35A2 I nearly break my ankle slamming the f150s pedal into the floorboard.

Mine is pretty light too. My engagement point just kind of comes out of nowhere. Definitely on par with the Honda Civic I learned to drive manual on for pedal stiffness. Its odd enough to have me suspecting a leak and checking the master reservoir regularly, but it stays full all the time. I've got just over 3,000 miles on mine, and every clutch component has been replaced.

Well I'm glad to know it's not just me. My clutch operates fine, but it is light and the engagement point doesn't feel any different than anywhere else. If you had your eyes closed and started releasing the clutch, you might not know if you were moving or not just by the feel of the clutch.

The previous owner told me he replaced the clutch and the slave cylinder at the same time he pulled the engine and did the oil pan. He had no reason to lie to me, he's my neighbor and I paid $300 for the whole truck.

It is more dependant on the clutch than the transmission. I just put a new Luk repset clutch in my m50d Bronco II, and it is pretty light. I am sure there are stiffer clutches available for more powerful engines if you don't like the feel of the one you have, but as long as it doesn't slip, it is doing its job. I agree, though, it is nice to feel it grab.

in my 95 F150, i swapped out the factory clutch for a Centerforce. Because a dead stock 300 six needed a Centerforce, right?? The clutch pedal definitely improved. It's far from perfect, but i would definitely do it again.
