Anyone install a sanden 805 AC compressor on a mid 70s 390.

I have a 1975 F250 w390 in C6 combo. It has the A/C compressor on the driver side but it is mounted upright rather than on the side like most other vehicles that we see of this era. Does anybody have a picture of a 390 of this era with a bracket that mounts the AC compressor on its side rather than standing up, the way it is on my truck. I appreciate a picture of the bracket to see if it's any different than the one that's on there so that I can change the mounting position if possible. I am thinking about using the double snorkel air cleaner on it, that is the reason why I was considering putting the compressor on its side again. Thanks..Mo

So it's the same bracket as the 460 which is on it's side then if my eyes are not deceiving me ND? I probably can do it if I get the other bracket #2888 but it shows the same # but the brackets look different? There a way to remove that duplicate post or not? I did it while at the coast on the stupid phone.

360/390 is not the same bracket as the 460.

Factory A/C: 1976 360/390 and 1973/79 460 compressors mount the same, probably why Ford included both in the pic.

No.
Pics in parts catalog illustrations are used by parts guys to find the basic part number for a required part.

Ford basic numbers shown in pics are the same. The text section of the catalog is required to get the complete part number by adding the apropos prefix and suffix.

For example, every hood from 1928 thru today that is shown in pics is basic part number 16612, every piston is 6108, every carb is 9510 and etc etc etc.

Is anyone running an sanden 805 with v belts

has anyone replaced their Yorks with a Sanden 805 or bigger AC compressor and kept a V belt set up. If so post pics and Pns# if you would. How do you like it compared to the Yorks?

I never cared much for the York, its heavy, noisy, inefficient and prone to vibration unless there are a lot of brackets and braces.
On my project I installed a Sanden compressor using a bracket that I got from Nostalgic Air. It bolts to the factory bracket set up. I also fabbed a second bracket to stabilize the factory bracket
I can't comment on the performance yet, my project is still a "work in progress".

Can I assume the slotting on the bracket is what allows for pulley/belt alignment? I think I will fabricate my own bracket as the ones I see are really simple enough to make. Even a secondary is just plate nothing fancy.
