Can I just unhook the backup sensors and disable the warnings?
I have a 2012 that has a rear bumper with no holes for the backup sensors. Also, the sensors (via the precious owner) are just bundled and zip tied up under the rear end, and it looks like 2 of the 4 are missing. Can I just leave them and somehow disable the warning on the instrument panel?

The back up sensors auto turn off if you have the factory trailer brake controller and a trailer with trailer brakes hooked up. I dont know how much resistance is needed in the trailer brake circuit for the truck to sence the braddkes are there. I am going to try a tail light bulb in the TB curcuit on my camper to see if it will keep the BUS off.

interesting.
I have a 2006 F350 with the backup sensors that are controlled by a push button on the dash vs having a menu on the instrument panel. The reverse sensors haven't worked for years.
It's mainly a plow truck, and I have backup lights plugged into the trailer connection all of the time. The reverse sensor button still lights up in reverse as an error even though my trailer plug back up lights are on.
Will be interested to see if what you do stops yhe message on the instrument panel.
