7.3l fuel bowl leak

Yes, that is the fuel drain leaking. You are lucky it's only leaking that little bit before you caught it.
Have you rebuilt your fuel bowl and replaced ALL the old o-rings, or are they still the stock o-rings?
There is a kit for just the drain valve, and there is a kit for the whole fuel bowl.

I haven't rebuilt the bowl at all. I did purchase the new o rings for the drain valve. so that will be fixed when I get those in. I know I'm happy I was glad I caught it early. our family friend has the same exact excursion. the fuel bowl on that truck one day went and it flooded diesel all over and had to be towed to the shop. (they don't like getting their hands dirty)

It would be dumb not to replace ALL the o-rings and parker sleeves on the fuel bowl while you have it out. Also if you've ever wanted to install an FRx and/or a fuel pressure gauge, this would be the time to do it.

i agree I should have bought the whole kit, but I don't really have time to take out the whole bowl and go through it. I will be doing the drain valve on my break at work. when the rest give me a problem I will fix those. as for the Frx or gauge I can't afford the Frx as for the gauge I might be doing that shortly. Ok don't mind getting my hand dirty and I can do the guage easily later as well.

The parker sleeves are one-time use so you have to replace those anyway. There's a good chance the other o-rings will start to leak shortly after you replace the drain valve o-rings.

Rebuild is easy. The part that takes the longest is removing the fuel bowl and putting it back in. Lining everything up can be a little tedious, along with getting a wrench on the return line to the tank. The input line from the tank is in the way, and space is cramped on the fuel pressure relief valve side. Not hard...just takes patience and the right wrenches.
Replacing the o-rings/cleaning the bowl takes all of 30 mins.

no I did not do the whole bowl. I didn't have the funds to purchase the whole kit. just the drain valve at this moment. when the moment arises I will purchase the whole kit and replace everything.
