06 F-250 6.0 Transmisson issues please advise.

Hello everything,

I currently have a 2006 F-250 6.0 with 187,XXX.

My problem that i am having is that the transmission recently within a couple weeks started acting weird about the same time 3 of my fuel injectors started failing. When i start up the truck and put it into drive it takes about 3-5 seconds to shift. Once it's in drive it runs pretty well but it will start shifting out of normal when i go to accelerate. Also when i go to slow down sometime the transmission shifts hard to a lower gear. I also have a video of the sound that it had started to make since its hard to describe.

Here are attached videos and photos. I want to hopfully fix the problems myself so i can learn more about my truck. I am going to handle the fuel injectors here soon since 2 are failing and ones about to these have been causing the truck to shudder at around 47-53 mph but after that its fine. I really want to find someone here that has experience or knows what could possibly be wrong.

The transmission is stocked and never been altered, i do admit for 3-4 years i have changed the fluids or filters.

The truck is bullet proofed, sct tuner, upgraded turbo from stock, 4" exhaust, head studs and new everything when the engine was rebuilt and bulletproofed.

Hope someone can help me i plan on going to ford tmw to have them figure out the problem and hopefully its just solenoids so i can fix it myself.

I have a link posted also where you can hear the noise it has been making when in R P and when shifting going down the road and it is a automatic.

Thank you all in advance for all your help and goodness.

Last time i checked my batteries where doing fine and they were the correct voltage which about a month ago. I will check again today.

Truck ran great this morning on the way to work just that weird sound is happening when the truck shifts. I was cruising at 80mph today with no issues shifting to that speed.

Do not fix the transmission. There is nothing wrong with it. Fix the injectors and the trans will be fine again.

I was thinking the same thing, but everyone i seem to talk to says that the fuel injectors 3-5-7 would not affect the transmission aka it is a separate problem. I have not had the transmission hot flushed so i was thinking about taking it to ford and just having them do a hot flush on the transmission w/ new filters verify what injectors are going to **** and replacing those 3 injectors myself as the guy i found to do injectors wants.

Replace 3 injectors
$1600

Replace 8 injectors
$2500

Do you by chance know what that sound is and where it's coming from and why?

Mine did the about the same thing when I had injectors issue

I resealed them all was good

Leaky injector seals results in low fuel pressure and can kill the injectors caught mine fast so reseal was all it needed

Your fuel injectors were causing the same issues to the transmisson? Did your's starting making the same noise like in the video?

This is the first time messing with the injectors would it better to have a shop replace all the injectors for $2500 since he can get the Warn injectors for $225 a pop. Or with all the right tools i need to buy should i just replace 3 bad ones myself and save some cash or replace all 8?

I would have someone be outside the vehicle so that can confirm where the noise is coming from. That type of squeal is typical of the parking brake shoes or assembly exploding. Check to see if your parking brake works.

Gotcha, I had a computer hooked up and it shows 2 failing and 1 about to start failing so fuel injectors for sure need to be replaced sadly. I am debating on having someone do the 3 for $1,600 or do all 8 for $2500 or i do 3 for around $1,000

Right now ford OEM is $260 a pop and Warn is $225. The gent that can install them wants to charge $1600 for 8 injectors $700 labor $200 tax or $700 for 3 injectors $700 labor $200 tax
