Sherm, you should defiantely get an offroad, or enduro bike in addition to the suzuki! How come you bought a new bike? What happened to your "old" hayabusa? The 11' is a nice bike though, what did that set ya back?!
I dont know if you have ever owned an enduro, but it is totally awesome being able to venture off into the ditch, or a back road at anytime! I got to love that really quick with my xt, but I do need a little faster of a bike on the highway, and that leans me towards a super enduro.
The XT is a pretty awesome older bike though, and I am currently dealing on a 09 KTM in Ontario. We will see what happens.
Why the 11 'busa? another 25hp, and more torque than my '06. Not that I need more, but why not? I found the Busa comfortable, so I'll trade both my bandit and the '06 busa on the new busa. Retail is about 16g I think, but after trades, I'm hoping to only put out 2g or so. Why not an enduro/dual sport? Basically because they don't excell in either on road or off road conditions. They're typically overweight for dirt bike style riding, but too light to ride comfortably on the highway with luggage. Be it unconstitutional, I have ridden my busa on 9 miles of gravel to get to our cabin. Also, on the way to Red Deer I went through 25kms of gravel where there was construction. Not the best terrain for the busa, but manageable.
Anyone into sledding? I may have bought a 2011 switchback 800 today...
I guess a bike is like anything else, gotta buy one that suits your needs!
Im really getting into the adventure riding, places a crotch rocket or a cruiser just wouldnt be able to go. I like the idea of seeing scenery and whatnot that most people cant see. I would really love to get a cruiser for doing some long distance runs, but I have alot more things im interested in then owning two expensive bikes! I also just fully paid off a quarter section of land, so my cash is running low for now( but having 250ish grand of equity free and clear sure feels nice!)
Cool sled, we need pics! Im also a ski-doo man myself!
Man have you people been busy! 46 posts in 1 day! have not had the time to read it all yet, been busy myself, making an ice rink for the kids, of to curling at 9pm tonight, then flood the rink again, and Sunday watch the Rough riders hopefully win the Grey cup GO RIDERS GO
