My '11 has 7000 mi on it. 3.55 gears and 35" bfg's. We pulled our 18k lb fiver from Utah to San Francisco up to Portland and back home thru Boise. 2900 mi.. Avg mpg was 8.8 calc.. Not bad. My 6.4 was getting high sixes pulling the same. My city mpg is about 12-13, lots of stop & go. Hwy empty is in the 15-16 range. (was about 11-12 with the 6.4). Overall I'm very happy with the truck. Overpriced by about 8 grand though. The def tank had to be filled 1 1/2 times on the 2900 mi trip. It's a pain to fill up too. It would be better un der the hood with a large fill neck like washer fluid. The 25 gal tank is gay too. Range is just as bad as the 6.4 and that's a disappointment...
I have 2500 miles on the F250 w/3.55 diff and factory 20's. I get 13.9 around the farm and back and forth to town, 19 highway at 70mph, and 12 towing. Sure hope it gets alot better as mileage creeps up. So far it's not a whole lot better than the old 6.0 was. I do notice that the mileage displays are much closer to the hand calculations I have done. All within 1 mile so far.

Your getting around what i get in mine at 4k miles. So expect that to stay around the same. It gets better milage than the 6.4's by far and if you think about it you have alot more power, no black smoke coming out the back, alot of advantages. Also im sure noticing the 6speed is a big improvement over the 4speed that came in the 6.0.
If i remember right the truck is around 1000lb heavier too than your previous truck.
Cant deny those better mirrors over the 6.0s too :P
You're right about everything being better compared to the old 6.0 truck. Power, tranny, locking diff, great mirrors, mileage(eventually?),etc. It was trouble-free though for 114,000 miles when I sold it. Their are a few things that I would like to add to the "what-the-hell-was-Ford-thinking"list like the 20 gallon fuel tank, doing away with the back seat floor pan for inside cargo carrying, and installing coat hooks and a middle rear seat headrest that when either are used, cover up the rear window. I was really psyched up about the reported dramatic mileage increases, I just hope they get up to what others are seeing real soon.

if you dont mind me asking what size tires do you have, do they rub at all . would you happen @ have pics ? i have the same truck and want to put bfgs on mine also
I can manage the 25mpg in the city depending on the time of day and my drivign techniques. But usualy im not that patent and neither are others on the road around me.
It is a drastic MPG improvement tho when you consider that the DPF uses a good bit of your fuel, Prob 1-2mpg on its own right there. Also the test trucks that got all those mpg they forced a def regen right before it was started so that it was a 90% chance it didnt hit a regen or if it would it would be right at the end not effecting milage as much.
I hear you on the 20 gallon fuel tank comment. I just filled mine with the fuel computer showing 51 miles to empty. I squeezed 19 gallons into the tank. I do not understand the 26 gallon tank. Aftermarket tanks are available that go over 50 gallons and fit in the same space. I would be willing to bet if Ford had a 40 plus gallon option on their list, they would sell no 36 gallon stockers.
Nevermind my last post. Apparently ford has changed there tank setups. NEW crewcabs get the 37.5gallon tank... only extendeds get the smaller ones now.
Not so, My 2011 Crew Cab shortbox has a 26 gallon tank.
Mine also, but when i got mine i checked and it showed both size tanks for the CC. one for the sb and one for the LB. now it shows the larger tank for both sizes.
