I'm willing to do what I can in the Greenville /Spartanburg area. I have a co-worker who may also be interested in joining. I'll see him today and ask him about it
Clear enough for the moment, but you know how things can come up at the last second. I sent an email to one of the local state parks (Paris mountain) inquiring about prices to rent a picnic shelter for a day.Maybe a first time "meet and greet" for the new club. Getting a place like that would have extra things to do for family members if they wanted to come along.
Something to think about maybe. I also used to know a bunch of half-baked mud boggers that lived to play off-road. If I can hunt them down, I'll get some old locations from them for anyone who wants to get their trucks stuck some weekend. As dry as its been here, I wouldn't put too much stock in a real mud bog anytime soon.lol.
I'll send a pm with my private email addy and then its off to work.
I was thinking about finding a rentable/free place for the meet-greet and voting of future officers. I was thinking more towards the lower half of the county (Gvle) or mid-lower Laurens, depending on how many lower state members we get to respond...
Heres some state parks:
1. Dreher Island State Recreation Area is located on Lake Murray
2. Paris Mountain State Park in Greenville
3. Croft State Park in Spartanburg
They all have rentable shelters etc. Also, many of the the local resturaunts already have bike nights, classic car nights etc etc. Beacon, Kostas, Carolina fine foods, Hooters to name a few. We could possibly represent at one of these. Just tossing a couple of locations out there.
