My Dentside Projects
1 gen 36x12.50x16.5 BIAS ply and IMO NOT the best wet road manners.
2nd gen 37x12.50x16.5. HEAVY TIRE.
3rd gen 37x12.50x16.5
3nd gen info there are 2 different load range versions. Get some load range "E's" for the wrecker.
My wrecker is going to be a offroad wrecker so you think the MT/R is going to be my best "performance" tire out of the bunch?
I dont care which versions I get or how noisy they are for the wrecker as I dont plan to put a ton of miles on the road since it gets 3 mpg.
Im going to throw an IDI into the wrecker may not make a ton of power however it should be more effcient than the worn out 460 its got.
Another plus with the IDI in my opinion is its injected so no floats so offroading it wont care or least thats what I understand.
I cant remember if this is the MT/R that split on me or not but it was a split very much similar to this that caused one of the MT/R's of mine togo flat.
I remounted it on one of the 24 double bolt humvee wheels to see how much they squatted with no air pressure and ive got 2 that I did that on and
dont remember which one was the bad tire.
Ive currently got the mis match setup on the wrecker due to that 1 MT dying. The spare on the wrecker is a MT but its pre 00's date code so im not going to run it on the truck.
Ive liked the BFG's so far but theyre also 10 years newer than the newest Goodyear I have.
I feel your pain on a good tire gone bad. I had a bad trail cut on a ol Sketchy one time, I could put 4 fingers up to my palm in it. My tire repair/vulcanizing guy did a heck of a job repairing it though. Even after vulcanizing it, it still got a inner rubber boot, and a dump truck inner tube. But it holds air (I normally run 8 to 10 psi anyway) and I wheel it as is. Off road use only, of course I do not take it on pavement, I am not crazy.
1605....old tires for sure.

Only ever seen the Interco, Firestone, Goodyear, and BFG's before.
Thats a pretty nasty slash thats for sure. Thats interesting never seen a repair like that is that melted rubber burned into that or what is that.
Yeah your tires a few years older than some of the ones I have but if your running tubes in them the tire age doesnt matter as much since I run tubeless its more of an issue.
If you run big tires and off road, better get one of these for the tool box. https://www.gluetread.com/products/f...UaAlaNEALw_wcB

And here is a solid #2 item to have in there also. Colby valve stems. https://colbyvalve.com/

Ive been to a few of their booths at King of the Hammers over the years checking the stuff out.
Only seen 1 guy use it on a trail and it didnt stick but he may have done something wrong not sure really.
Interesting product with the colby valve cant say ive seen that before.
Ive seen plenty of slashed or damaged valve stems on the trail that would be a good thing to have on board.
Ok sounds good ill see what I can find.
Came across this slightly different MT/R humvee tire on facebook today.
Never seen this version before to bad theyre down in san diego otherwise id go pick them up since theyre 500$ for the set of 4 and look to be pretty new.

Not that far....driving from Acton, CA to San Diego typically takes about 2.5 to 3 hours, covering roughly 150–160 miles, usually via I-5 South or I-15 South depending on traffic. The route takes you through the Los Angeles basin, making travel time highly dependent on traffic conditions, particularly through the downtown LA area.
- Route: Take CA-14 S to I-5 S or I-210 E to I-15 S.
- Best time to leave: Avoid weekday morning (7-10 AM) and afternoon (3-7 PM) rush hours in Los Angeles.
- Distance/Time: Approx. 155 miles, 2h 30m–3h (without heavy traffic).
- Alternative: The Amtrak Pacific Surfliner is available from Los Angeles Union Station (about 1 hour south of Acton) to San Diego.
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
Here I am pulling the 3rd member. ALONE.
I know 2 links on ONE anchor point. Way wrong anchor set up on the axle. Its like what ever they could find in a scrap bucket and get it to stick.
Houston we have a problem.
NOT suppose to be that way.
Do not even get me started on the front axle...76 F250 low pinion with a 5 lug outer swap. But they had to leave the drs side leaf spring pad (that was cast into the pumpkin). So lets just off set the axle that complete amount to the passenger side. But attach it to some high dollar raidus arms. Some peoples kids...I swear.
A tossed in EFI 5.0
Ziptie to the rescue. How about that PS pump reservoir.
Milk shake anyone?
I know I know, I have plans to upgrade/fix all the sketchyness, I just need some time off work and some parts....yes that jam nut is LOOSE as a goose.
DO NOT LET THE SON IN LAW GO ROCK CRAWLER SHOPPING IN OKLAHOMA..... BY HIMSELF.

What dont you use something like a heim joint welded to a shackled on the axle so itll flex without tension on the leaf but also be able to stretch when it goes up/down.
Any idea how much work it would be to put a 8 lug hub on a drum brake d44 5 lug? I was thinking about it wouldnt it just be a 8 lug hub and drum backing plate to match the 8 lug drum?
They use the same spindles and axle shafts right if you go small hub 8 lug hub.
