The engine is level - just less "stuff" on the DS, so access is ok from the top. Lots of hoses and such blocking access on the PS from above. I saw a video on YT where the guy pulled the fender liner for this job - helped alot. It also provided better access to the radiator drain so I could perform a few drain and fill cycles at the same time. The rig has not reached the 150K mile mark yet, but has hit the 5 year limit for coolant maintenance.
Beautiful day here, 75 degrees sunny and dry! Great day to fix a driveway that has some amazing views of Corning towers in Smallbany NY . Of course I didn’t get a picture of them, non the less the scenery in the picture below made for an enjoyable work day.
I think they engineer 1 plug to be difficult. On my '02 Blazer, one sits right behind the steering column. I found it easier to disconnect the shaft and move it aside. Well...actually...I found it to be the only way but others might have devised another method.

Isn't that something, that you have to move the steering column to maintain a spark plug. It does make you wonder, in this age of CAD and ergonomic simulation, that they could make serviceability much easier if they wanted to, though engineers are always dealing with cost-speed-quality tradeoffs.
At work, my team creates hardware diagnostics in software to help customers, module suppliers and service engineers determine what part is at fault during the assembly and maintenance of ultrasound systems - there is a renewed emphasis on design for serviceability given the labor costs involved in diagnosis and change-out of defective modules. I suppose dealer and private repair shops pass on that cost to us in the form of high service charges when they quote these maintenance jobs. At least we can do the work and avoid that gouging, but it's a pain at times.
Doing last minute packing and preparing for our trip. Dana will be here by the end of the week and I want to be available to help her get situated and comfortable.
Finished the final upgrade to the 5th wheel today. Since we bought this 5th wheel we have thought the area over the TV and cabinet was a bit dark.
I bought 4x 2700K strip LED's and 4x 2200K strip LED's. I also purchased a dual 12v switch in order to remove/restore power to the radio/DVD player. This is in an effort to remove all vampire power drains while boondocking for extended periods, no matter how small of a draw.
All 8 LED strips are secured, connected and reliably wired together. I installed a painted to match valence in the front so that the LED strips are completely out of sight.
Dual switch which is also out of sight for a clean look. I installed the 12v power port last year.
Area above the TV and cabinet with all the lights off and the curtains closed.
Area above the TV and cabinet with the lights on. The camera overexaggerates the light output, it is not nearly this bright, which is a good thing as it is meant to be accent lighting.
I really like indirect lighting and 2700K color temp for indoor relaxing color. I didn't know they made 2200K. What drove the decision to use both color temps?

The boss... Also known as Kate, my wife.
She is very adamant about the temperature/color of all lights in every aspect of our life. She us the creative side and comes up with the ideas and I "make it happen".
We first installed just the 2700K, but the color was not quite right. I ordered a set of 2200K and installed them parallel to the others and it is perfect.
Filling fresh water tank now, just updated the firmware on the Victron charge controller and battery monitor.
We were supposed to take this trip last year, but things got crazy...
Eating lunch yesterday I was thinking there are a lot of white trucks here again. This is a recurring inside joke - ‘get something out of the white truck’ - because it seems like there are a lot of them.
Then I went through this scenario.
Get something from the FORD. There are (9).
The WHITE one. There are (7).
The 7.3 PSD. This narrows it to (6).
The PICKUP. Down to (5).
The CREWCAB. Only (4)!!!.
The DUALLY. (3) of these
The SUPERDUTY with flatbed. Just (2)!!!
Or the OBS? Only (1).
Lol. I was entertained (and a little disturbed?) by this.
Pulled Mom’s ‘29 out of the barn and got it ready for cruising this summer. Still needs a bath, but it fired right up and drove great after checking all the fluids, etc. With the chirus going on last summer it didn’t get used much. We used to drive it in all the local parades and the old car club has regular ‘cruise in’s’ where folks just show up and hang out with cool cars. Mom will drive this to the feed store and to run errands in town and stuff.

But, this is Georgia. The common sense is still strong here - especially outside metropolis. Facial diapers are not required, bars and restaurants are at 100%, etc. I hate it for all of those still living in fear and thinking the draconian measures had any affect on the ‘curve’....
