1979 F350 Uhaul with 330HD engine. Need starter
Hello all,
I am in need of a starter for my 79 Uhaul F350, 330HD engine. Can someone tell me what starter is compatible with this model? Maybe a part number or what year and model I can ask for at my local auto parts shop.
I tried my local dealer but their database not only don't go back that far (only to 1980) it does not offer the option of a 330HD engine for that year.
Any help is appreciated.

1979's came with 370/429 engines, have 7 valve cover bolts per side.

You sure this is a 1979? 1964/78's came with FT engines, have 5 valve cover bolts per side. FT engines cancelled at the end of the 1978 model run.

According to this, as long as the 390 starter is from '65 and later, it will work. Note the comments in post 3:

I tried NAPA for the FT starter, no soap. (You change the vehicle type to "Medium-Heavy..." and the bigger trucks appear) But they have FE starters and parts.
