Hi. 86 6.9 4x4
I need to get a starter. My question is which one is better.
Autozone-Duralast $139.99 Remanufactured
Advance Auto-Worldwide $134.48 Remanufactured
Or one bought online Mitsubishi OSGR 12 Volt, CW, 13-Tooth Pinion 100$ New One of my concerns would be how the warranty stuff works. It would definitely be easier from autozone or advance auto to return if something goes wrong. But if the mitsubishi one is better and for 35 bucks less idk. Also with the mitsubishi one there is no core which means I could hold onto my current starter which does work just not the way it should.
I'd buy a starter that doesn't need to be replaced for a long time. I put a Mitsubishi starter in the truck that I have now, but it's not my daily driver. I'm sure others will chime in.
I bought the high torque Hitachi at the local NAPA out where I live for $169.00 with a 5 year warranty. I prefer NAPA for parts especially for my trucks as I had some bad luck with Schucks, Advanced, Pepboys. I bought a new fuel pump relay from Advanced and it welded the primary contacts and pumped 16 gallons of gas into the engine after I shut it off, filled the crankcase and it was running out the air filter. I've used O'Reily's with good luck though.
