I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the frame width is outside to outside, what diameter rims are used and stud count. I have a 56 Mercury M350 which has a frame width of 34 inches and would like to put a set of dual wheels out back. Is there any drawings or pictures of the chassis without the body that anyone can post. I'd be forever grateful..
I'll try to translate these responses for you. The majority of Transit vans are unibody construction - i.e. no frame. The cut-away and chassis cab versions have a "frame" of sorts but if you look closely at photos it appears to be the same type of construction just with most of the body cut away (I've never seen one in person so take that with a grain of salt). As for the wheels the best I could find is the 350 dually wheels are 16x6 with a 6x180 bolt pattern (I have a 2015 250 single rear wheel model so mine are different). There might be some detailed specs available for the cut-away that Ford provides for up-fitters and RV builders but I have only found pdf feature brochures and nothing with the kind of detail you are looking for. Good luck with your project, the M series should look awesome with duallies out back!
