For you guys using Forscan on a computer which version are you running. I went to their website and all I see is
FORScan version 2.3.13 beta for Windows - free and
FORScan version 2.3.12 beta for Windows (Wine edition)
Am I missing something or am I in the right place.
This is the one I recently downloaded and used to look into the codes (or lack there of) for my hydroboost/power steering issue. It worked as intended.
EDIT: This is wrong information, see post 13 below.
Found this today while looking for something else. How to set up and different things you can change. A lot of it is for later model trucks but the set up is helpful, I think. Haven't been able to try it myself yet.
Tugly,
So do you indeed need to go to the web site and register to get the extended license in order to use programming functions.
I haven't registered mine yet, but I plan to. Therefore... I haven't had this experience yet. It does make perfect sense, though. "Here's a free app to look at your gauges. Oh... you want the advanced test and programming functions? Well... we just happen to have that available now... but first there's something we want from you."
I was able to connect my laptop with ForScan through my WIFI adapter that I use with my iPad. It read my hardware like it does with the iPad but I was unable to find a way to monitor anything, all it would give me was codes. Is there a way to set which PID's to read and display them?
Just for everyone's future reference, the "Wine" edition is for running on computers that run a windows simulator within its own operating system, such as Linux.... for those of us running actual windows (7,10, etc) the non wine version is best...
