Good question that I never thought of until today.

Going into work late today on a road I don't travel that much. But when I do I do the speed limit because of the local PD's love to generate revenue.

I was traveling North and the F-350 was traveling South. He was well over the 35 MPH limit.

All of the sudden it was like a bomb went off. I jammed on the brakes and since I have a sticky caliper went left of center, recovered and looked around. WTH?

I notice the F-350 pulling up to a red light slowly. I whip the Ex around and close the distance with malice, pull up behind it and lay on the horn. Guy shrugs and starts rolling.

WTH?

I jump out and use my DI voice to get his attention.

He yells back calm down and back off its no big deal. He starts rolling again.

WTH?

I dial 911 and the local PD shows up asap and they know this guy.

So we pull off and the guy goes on and on that I crossed the line on him and I hit him.

I point to where it happened and ask then why is there glass in my lane?

Neither of us got sited and I never made it to work!

Plus I have never seen a mark on glass like was on my drivers window.

 

Perfect time to upgrade, but I'm glad it was only a busted mirror. Goo gone fixes everything and hope it's not an indention.

 

Denatured Alcohol did a good job of getting all but the pits off of the window. I found an almost new mirror for $50.

If I can find a good piece of glass for a reasonable price I will just eat this..

I'd say your mirror won that battle hands down. Glad yours did not slap the window quite like his did.

 

I would high five the other driver for a job well done!

 

That is exactly why I have dash cams in my car and ex.

I would ask how the glass in your lane was not irrefutable evidence but I guess that would be stupid. Also sounds like he tried to leave the scene of an accident. Looks like his vehicle bears scars from previous encounters.

 

go after the pits in your glass with regular rubbing compound and an old t-shirt. A guy at a muscle car restoration shop told me about that after I scratched the heck out of one of the rear side windows with a bike handlebar. It took some effort, but it worked amazingly well.
