I have had to go the bonded title route before in Texas. Wasn't bad, but knowing a former owner can show up for 3 years to contest your ownership puts a lot of risk on you as the buyer. I wouldn't have an issue picking up an EX with no title as long as everything checked out....I wouldn't do it for more than 1k though.

Why do so many people try and sell vehicles without a title? Who buys these things? I went to look at a Lexus the other day and it was clean and nice and then when it came time to negotiate he didn't have the title so I went back home.
I bought my Ex without a title. The guy selling it had this long complicated story about how he was given the truck as commission on a home sale. He never changed the name over and then the guy died. So I had to learn how to navigate the process. What I found was that it's scary easy to get a title for a car you don't own, at least here in Texas. I ended up with a bonded title which rolls to a normal title in like 3 years or something. No issues with financing or insurance with a bonded title either.

Little known fact that the lost titles go to the very same place those lost socks from the dryer go!

Our puppy steals socks from the pile of clean clothes. Then runs around the house with them. I think thats why my socks disappear.

Leans against them is the scariest part of buying a no title mystery.... Nothing like finding out after the purchase that a bank or a BHPH dealership still owns it...or n Ex girl/boyfriend who comes back from a deployment to find their things missing. I don't often mess with no title vehicles.

Yes you're right but it was such a good deal, I had to get it lol. It worked out and the seller was a pretty nice old guy. I have taken the truck by his place a few times to show it off. I don't recommend it though. I was just amazed at how easily I could get a title on some random car.

Notice I said not often..lol. I once pulled a Thunderbird from an appt complex that was abandoned in Texas. I had the three certified letters to the owner and nothing else. I was able to get a title issued after running newspaper ads asking for the owner to claim it and then dealing with calls from bozos who didn't know anything about it but trying to claim it... Worth it maybe, but risky

I've been looking for 18" wheels for a while. I've got the v/b springs on so these may rub a little but I can change out tires if I need to. These don't look like the factory HD or Lariat wheels. Are they KR or aftermarket? f 250 rims & tires

They are later model (05-up), so you'd have to run spacers because of too much backspacing. I don't think you could get small enough tires to not rub at full lock...

Sorry, I didn't notice. I was too busy looking at that custom bumper and dry heaving to do anything else.
