Announcing a new theft deterrent product for 2017 to 2021 F Series Pickups. In August, the taillights were stolen from my 2017 Platinum F250. The theft was captured on video and confirms that my tailgate was locked. Turns out it is very easy to open a locked tailgate to steal the tailgate or taillights. The thief can reach in the bed and flip a detent accessible in the latch opening on each end of the tailgate. Your taillights and tailgate can walk in 30 seconds, EVEN if the tailgate is locked. Taillights and tailgates can be very expensive to replace.
My insurance company sent me to my local dealer for the repair. The tab was $4,100 to replace the LED lights with the BLIS sensors, misc hw, and labor.
I have invented and produced a set of theft deterrent plates that mount over the tailgate latch pins. When installed, they cover up the access holes on the tailgate, deterring thieves from trying to open your locked tailgate to steal your taillights or the tailgate itself.
The plates are called LatchLids. I have a patent pending with the US Patent Office for the idea and designs.
They are MADE IN THE USA of 16 gauge steel, precision laser cut, with a black oxide coating. The installation hardware is stainless steel.
I have been doing product testing with friends and family and am now offering them to the public for the first time. I have 10 sets in stock today. The next order will take about 4 weeks to come in.
Price is $30 plus shipping for a set of 2 plates including the hardware.
DM me if you are interested in ordering a set or if you have any questions.
Compatibility testing is underway for the 2022 F-Series models. When that is complete, I will post confirmation.
Ill likely grab a set of these for my 2022 thats on order. Shouldnt be any different than a 2021 but my truck wont be here for 3-4 more months so dont want to take up a set that somebody can use immediately, so ill grab a set later on another production run.

I have sold out of my current inventory. Thank you everyone. When the next order comes in, I will update here and contact anyone who has already expressed an interest.
Also, I was able to confirm today that the design DOES fit the 2022 model year.

Tim I eagerly await your next run but I wonder if you should maybe look at applying for a patent? Seems like you’ve created a unique product and design.
