No fuel cap??
Just purchased a new '10 F150 FX4 Supercrew this past Tuesday.
Really like the truck, except for.....the lack of a fuel cap.
Guess there are not any gravel roads around Dearborn.....
How do I go about getting this disaster waiting to happen replaced with a good ole fashion, no frills, RELIABLE gas cap?
Has anyone already did this?
I've searched the site, but have not had any luck.

Why don't you like it? I have no problems with mine... nothing gets into there- at all. I didn't much care for it either at fist, but after a few fill ups, saw how slick it was. Just don't run it empty or you have to use the little funnel behind the back seat.

Me either. I love it.
If it bothers you, you can buy a locking gas cap from Ford.

That little plug is pretty slick. Think I'll order one just for those times traveling and staying at motels.

Yeah -for $20 it's cheap piece of mind.

So that's what that funnel is for! I thought it was something to help with adding oil or something, like Porsche provides.

You need for adding gas with a gas can so you don't damage the filler tube since only a gas pump end will open the trap door inside to let in gas

I had a major mental block on this, too. The gasket on the gas door definitely does a good job of keeping the area clean.

Not a bit of dust behind my fuel door after nearly 20,000 miles including quite a bit of miles running dusty crushed granite roads in NC.

I wonder about snow/water this winter. I guess I'll find out.
