Can someone help me with this I just got my truck bout a little over a month ago. I have washed it two times. The first time I noticed a water mark down the back of the bed from the ford emblem. Wiped it and it didn't come off. Second wash same thing but now it is hard feels like it is etched in the paint. Someone said it might be acid under the emblem from a acid wash the dealer did when it was delivered to the to clean it. What should I do to get it off? Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks in advance.
The issue is that the emblem is hollow and collects detergent that is not being completely flushed out. It will continue to leak out long after the truck has been washed and dried. You have to make sure when you are rinsing that you force as much water into the top of the emblem as you can to completely flush the soap out.
The back side of the emblem is really poorly designed. Instead of a solid contact point for the adhesive tape to stick to, there are raised intermittent points that the tape contacts. Therefore it isn't sealed all the way around the emblem and allows water and soap behind it.
At this point my concern isn't the white soap streak anymore but ice build up this winter. I get the feeling one day I'm going to walk behind the truck and see the emblem gone altogether.
Thanks for all the advice. I had a guy try one of those waterless car cleaning applications on it for water marks, but you can still feel it. The guy mentioned it seems as tho it has ate thru the clear coat, so I am going to take it to the dealer this week. Yes it is still under warrenty tseekins ( she is only 6 weeks old) but I didn't get her from a dealer here in Hawaii. It was ordered and shippped here.

Keep in mind it is just hardened soap.
I used tar and bug remover plus a little elbow grease and it came right off.
