My fuel pump problems 1979 f150 4wd 302 help asap thanks
I check all my gas lines there good all the way to the fuel pump. So I went and got another pump from the hardware store put it on still nothin. The numbers match on each fuel pump. What I did notice is the arm on the new ones are maybe a inch smaller. Long story quick I replaced it and it didn't work even had a back yard automotive guy say it's the pump. So I return it and again I notice the arm on the replacment are smaller. The arm goes on the cam right it's a cheap 15 dollar mechanical pump. It will run if I put gas right into the carb that's it. I've tryed everything 2 part stores. It got a 302 that runs like a beast and 2 barrel motorcraft carb. I know it's not original motor so could this be a diffrent pump i'm stumped and my truck Is a lawn ornament instead of being driven any ideas?
