What transmission do i have??
I have a 77 f250 ranger 4x4 with a 351m. How do i know what transmission i have?

How mant bolts are in your transmission pan?
17 bolts = C6
11 bolts = C4

My 77 f150 had the C6, pretty sure your F250 is too.

L= Michigan Truck Plant
Z06417= 1977 consecutive serial number

Allmost, they use the same block and bore, internals are different.

The 400 has a longer stroke, other than that they are pretty much the same.
