I now see the light!

For the last week i have been wishing i had a long bed truck... if i had a long bed i would not have to remove the in bed tool box every time i want to load up my new quad. I now see the light!

Short boxes are nearly worthless. Cant haul a couch, lumber, entertainment center, snowmobile, or a 4 wheeler with the gate up. Even a toolbox in a longbed limits its use.

Worked for a few months with my brother inlaw doing construction. They hauled tools and people in ther ext cab short box chevys. The bunk of plywood or drywall and job trailer was always behind my 64 ford. When I quit he remarked how nice it was to have a longbed truck on hand to haul with.

I like to think of it as either you have a "regular bed" or a "short bed". A real "long bed" would have to be something like a 10' bed!

I think the term "long bed" came from all those current truck owners with 6' beds and have a case of bed envy.....

A 6 1/2' bed was standard for many years. The optional 8' bed wasnt available on a half ton untill the 50s on fords.

I wish I had the 9' bed one could get on a 60s 250 or 350. That would be the cats meow.

8' 1" X 5' 5" Sitting low, looks long and sleek. Hauling stuff, plenty of room for everything your hauling.
Now bow to the long beds.
It's only a matter of time before everyone sees the light.
Please no hate mail. I'm only kidding about everyone seeing the light.
NOW BOW!!!

You have a nice Pickup, You could always find a used lightweight trailer for the Quad.
