Steering wheel swap; can it be done??
Just bought my 3rd Excursion; 2003 EB 7.3 TD. It pretty much has every option with the exception of the steering wheel controls for the audio and hvac. I was really hoping to get one with that option but I was tired of searching; (almost 6 months), and this one was a good deal.
Anyway, has anyone ever swapped in a steering wheel with controls? Does anyone know if it is possible? I have to believe that the internal wiring harness is there but maybe I am wrong.
Any input would be appreciated!

I have read that it is possible. The only thing that won't work is the Heater controls on the wheel... unless you have the EATC (electric climate controls, not *****/ vacuum operated).
Make sure you get a wheel off a 2002 or newer as the wiring plug under the airbag is different on older ones. I found this out the hard way when I bought a (older) Navigator wheel. It will hook up directly to a 2000 model EX, but not to my 2002. I assume your 2003 is like my 2002.
