They had a 6.7 in a F 450 at the Tampa rv super show at the fairground's,the hood was up but with all the pipe's and hose's you could not even see the valve cover's OR anyrthing else For that matter,no hand out's on the 6.7,they still were handing out the 6.4 stuff,i asked some offical looking older guy from
ford what the power output would be,..............NO comment at this time!!!!!!,i asked how they would keep the urea/water mix from freezing,he said they have a vacume pump that suck's the line's dry when you shut it down putting the mixture in a "HEATED TANK",how do the heat that tank i ask,12 volt or 125 volt plugged in,NO comment,i used to live up north, -30 below at time's,Hmmmm, wonder how they address the freezing issue, battery's run down over time and NOT every truck is parked close to an outlet.
Yeah I remember reading something about the coolant heating the tank. I wondered how it kept from freezing when the truck wasn't running though.
On the power figures, I'll be surprised if they release anything before the new GM trucks debut at the Chicago Auto Show next month. They'll probably wait to see what GM announces and go from there. They announced early on the 6.0 when it first came out and within a week or two, they upped the torque rating to 560 to stay ahead of Dodge when they announced the 5.9 would make 555 ft./lb.
They most liking will use a urea/water mixture and add alcohol as a freezing point depressent. Thats what they do for the generators at work. Lowers the freezing point to around -30C.
Saw the same truck at the Tampa RV show. The truck looked pretty much like the 08's to 10's. The Ford guy there did not know much.. said the motor was 160 lbs lighter and the truck was @ 600lbs lighter but did not know where the additional weight was lost... Said not in the frame...so where??? Did not know the gear ratios in the new 6 speed xmittion,, Not enough information out to make any kind of a evaluation.
...................Running is NOT the issue, parked while you are getting some ZZZZZZ's is!!!!!.
No ****, but you start your truck, it warms up and thaws the **** out. Seems they don't need it when cold from what I've read on here. If it is frozen solid it won't thaw out to easy but if just over night warm coolant through the tank will thaw it pretty quick
What I read is that freezing is not an issue they are concerned with. The tank is large enough to allow for expansion by freezing. By the time the truck is up to operating temperature the system will have thawed out the frozen urea.
Doesn't sound all that reassuring, but this system has been used in Europe for quite a while and it has been known to get cold over there as well.
Europe cold is a joke compared to northern Minnesota cold! Folks, I was ice fishing a few weeks back by Black Duck MN, the temp. on my truck read NEGATIVE 37 degrees F! This was confirmed by weatherunderground so it was legit.

From what I have read, (could be wrong) they saved most of the weight by removing all of the parts on the F450 that make it an F450. The axles are now just 350 axles and so on. From what I have read, the differences are now very similar to the differences between the 250 and 350 SRW. Not much difference. I think the 450 still has a little stiffer springs and the wide track front end, but you can get those on a 350 if you check the right boxes.
The bean counter effectivly neutered a worthwhile product and made it a sticker package. To get any of the real 450 upgrades you need to buy a cab and chassis, then you lose out on the motor.......
i believe the f350 has no option for wide track anymore, i don't think i seen one, but at same time i remember talking about it. It was 6ft difference in turning radius.
But i was torn between f350 and f450. I went with 350,because they upped the towing 2500 lbs like the towboss,5th wheel 17,700. So i saved 5000.00 over the 450.
