WTB Excursion

I'm looking to buy an Excursion with the 7.3l Diesel.

How do you guys check the engine out with the VIN? What else should I look for when shopping around?

Does anyone know of a good mechanic in the Tampa/Clearwater/New Port Richey area to tune the 7.3?

The eighth VIN position is the engine displacement and number of cylinders.

L — 5.4L, Modular, SOHC, EFI, V8, Gas, F-Series/Excursion
S — 6.8L, SOHC, EFI, V10, Gas, F-Series/Excursion/Motorhome
F — 7.3L, OHV, DI Turbo, V8, Diesel, F-Series/Excursion

Using the VIN you posted and the above, you're looking at a 7.3 PSD Excursion

In the 6.0 forum there is an OASIS sticky thread for you to post your VIN and one of the nice people that frequents this site and has access to that database will be kind enough to run the VIN and give you the report.

The OASIS report is Ford's internal VIN history for any work done to the truck at a dealership. It is a useful tool when deciding on whether to buy a specific truck or not...
