I just picked up a 78 Bronco with the trim that goes in the "dent". Its the wider trim with the rubber in the middle of it. I dont care much for it and was wondering if anyone knows what its worth. I know the 73-79 trim for the F-series is hard to get and cost alot. Just tryin to pass the trim to someone that can use it and make a little extra cash to fund the project.
I'd snap some photos and put 'em up in the classified section. Then post a link to the ad in this thread. That way folks frequenting this forum know there is something Bronco-specific available.
Its really just the quarters. And they are not that bad. THe worst is on both sides down next to the bumper. Everything else is solid and it runs great. The A/C even works.
Actually, for a '78, she looks pretty good considering that even though the cancer on the rear quarters is obvious, it hasn't begun to slough off large hunks of iron oxide. The rest of it looks ok. How are the floors?
Floors are solid other than below the gas pedal. Some idiot installed a sunroof and didnt seal it well. It set on an incline to where any water that got it puddled around the gas pedal. What baffles me is that there is no rust inside or out around the windshield. I have three broncos and several 73-79 trucks and none have rusted the way this thing has. Even all the crossmembers of the body are still solid.
somehow this one I bought had the doors and tailgate totally rusted out, but the body has no rust- kinda wierd, i'm sanding it down presently, and scoring free doors and 'gate.
oh, and HORRID thick layers of paint on mine!!
I only need one small part from the racetrack style trim that you dont have.
