I never thought I would complain about this, but I put new front brake pads on my 98 EB and I can't stand the dust build up. I never had this problem before. Its a very dark colored dust and it is really noticeable only a couple of days after washing the truck. They are an Autozone brand, probably Duracraft. I've never had a problem with these brakes before. I probably have them on all my vehicles. And its not the first time I've had them on my truck. Anyone else have this problem? I don't have any complaints about how they work. They brake fine. But I can't take the dark color on the rims.

Sounds like you have put a metallic or semi-metallic pad on your vehicle. The metallics are by far the worse for dust. Semi-metallics can be as bad depending on the various combos of metallics and non-metallics used in the pad. Organics are the some of the best for low dust, however they suffer from low life spans. I understand that most ceramics are low dust as well. Due to ceramics not absorbing heat the rotors can warp in overheating.
I use semi metallics myself but all pad make ups have pros and cons.
Before you wash your truck again, go back to AZ with your truck and complain to the manager. I put AZ pads on my '04 and I have to wash the entire vehicle before the wheels get dirty.
My '04 has had a hideous dusting problem, Hawk Performance Ceramics didn't fix it. I wish I had stuck with Raybestos low dust pads which I have on the '03, they work great. I had used shields in the past (around 100k miles between two different trucks) with great success until a dealer rotated tires and didn't move the shields accordingly and I didn't catch it. Warped the rotors almost immediately.
i run hawk ceramic....virtually no brake dust at all.
I was thinking exactly the opposite. I replaced my factory front pads with Hawk ceramic and they were squealed all the time and created way more dust than my factory ones. Poor quality control??
I had seen you commenting on them before, and along with others here it steered me that direction. In my application they are only a very slight improvement over the stock pads. They do stop well.
