i just got my highboy ready for a couple road test. i have three problems im stumped on. the first is at night my truck likes to turn the head lights off. if i wait bout five seconds they come back on. second if i lay down on it real hard than chop the throttle it goes out of control and all front end parts are new.( it also back fires and blows flames out the stacks) the third is it will barely turn over hot or cold. i have new battery with 1000CA and 850CCA and a new solenoid. starter only year old. its a 70 f250 highboy with a mild 460 in it any help would be great

 

1- You have a short in the headlight system. First two culprits are the switch, and the dimmer switch on the floor.
2- Weak shocks, most likely. If you upgraded the axle, it's heavier than stock and the shocks won't be able to control the rebound.
3- Timing is over advanced (usually)

 

i retarded the timing as much as possiable and it has new shocks. i think the problem with the steeringis i had the wrong size tie rod ends

 

ps after retarding the timing still doesnot liketo statrtand how do i find the short
